United have today confirmed that goalkeeper Ben Foster was left out of Fabio Capello's England squad due to a chest injury and nothing else.
Many observers guessed that the United keeper was left out because of his poor recent form, but the Red Devils have revealed that that is not the case, according to Sky Sports.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury during United's 2-2 draw with Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday. Foster, who made some high-profile errors during last month's Manchester derby, was beaten to a high ball by Black Cats striker Kenwyne Jones for one of Sunderland's goals. With Edwin van der Sar nearing full fitness, Foster also faces a battle to hang onto his spot between the sticks at Old Trafford.

He doesnt deserve a starting spot till he develops good decision making , he seems unable to time his runs, his clearences are also not convincing they are always short ,if he gets over these problems he is a very handy keeper, not of the calibre of Scmichael or Casillas either but very handy
absolutely agree with u!
he jus needs to build internally, otherwise an excellent goalie...
Michael Owen back is the best news of the week, i am a big fan of his, i wish he starts every game it is still hard to beleive that he is at United , looking at the receptions that past players have been receiving on returning to there former clubs i feel Owen will be Booed at Anfield and one thing is sure if he is fit then Sir Alex will play him at Anfield sure.
