Manchester United take on Chivas 30.07.2010

Between? Chivas vs Manchester United
When? 9.15 PM CST / 3.15 BST
Where to watch it live? MUTV or ESPN Deportes (Mexico)

Manchester United agreed on playing Chivas Guadalajara as part of the £6m signing of the Mexican sensation - Javier Hernandez "Chicharito".

This game will be the inaugural game played at the brand new stadium in Guadalajara which is speculated to seat 70,000 people.

The expectations are big from the 22 year old child faced Mexican striker Chicharito who will play his 2nd game in Red t-shirt against his former club. He will apparently play the last 45 minutes of the game. It'll be interesting to watch if he celebrates on scoring a goal (which I'm sure he will).

Chicharito has become the first Mexican player to play with Manchester United and has been highly rated by football legends like Sir Bobby Charlton, Ryan Giggs, Van Der Sar and of course! Sir Alex Ferguson. He scored a lovely chip goal on his debut against MLS All-Stars after coming on as a sub 6 minutes from Full-time. It's amazing how he timed his run and chipped with no problems...

Our predictions: MU 3-1 Chivas, Chicharito to score.

David Beckam to return to Premier League?

Former England skipper Becks, 35, was born in East London.

The LA Galaxy midfielder hopes to make his comeback from an Achilles injury in the next few weeks then return to Europe in January.
Hammers co-owner David Gold said: "We had some discussions with David's agents a few months ago and it was a possibility.
"He's preoccupied with a number of projects at the moment but he's promised he will give every consideration to the possibility of joining us."

One never knows, he may end up at Manchester United one day, maybe as a coach?!

Man United vs Kansas City HD Highlights

Kansas City got the better of an exposed Manchester United.

You will notice the new manchester united goalie - Ben Amos who makes 1 or 2 good saved but otherwise showed that he needs more nourishment as a young player.

I liked Berbatov's intelligent penalty kick, I guess this is the only penalty kick we've seen him taking for United. Other good aspect of the game was the partnership between Tom Cleverly and Welbeck. Really some nice 1-2 attacking displays.

Manchester United brutalise MLS All-Stars FT 5-2 (HD Highlights)

This was one of the most aggressive displays seen from Manchester United in quite a while. 7 goals in 1 game reminds me of the Manchester derby last September. However, there were no Michael Owen moments in this game and the whole game was very energy filled - a great ending to the North American tour.

Javier Hernandez, United's most recent transfer from Chivas this summer for £7m, scored in his debut game 6 minutes from full-time which was like icing on cake. I'm sure Sir Alex will be more than pleased by the lovely chip from the 22 year old Mexican striker.

Macheda gave United a lead 23 seconds after play resumed and soon doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Gabriel Obertan suffered a knock on his leg and had to be substituted for Tom Cleverly who scored a lovely goal in the second half. I must admit he really did show some miraculous skill to get the ball past the goal line. Check out the highlights! Van der Sar, who celebrates his 40th b'day this October, did a fine job throughout the game, although he did receive a wild but decent scoring effort from close to the Centre-line which he somehow managed to save.

There was a huge buzz around the stadium when Chicharito was brought on for Nani (who suffered a little blow on his knee in the first half). Chicharito soon missed a great chance to make it 3-0 but he hit the ball a little wide of the goal. It was a great chemistry display from Welbeck and Chicharito.

MLS scored a goal on the other end, and soon after Gibson was brought on for Ryan Giggs. Chicarito was fouled outside the box and to make things worse for MLS, Gibson shooted a lovely ball into the net. Bang! 3-1. Then came Cleverly who netted another brilliant goal. 6 minutes from Full-time, the debutant striker Chicharito chipped a magnificent ball over the goalie making it 5-1. Boom! But the game isn't over yet, the All-Stars fired a compensation goal which got deflected off VDS.

All-in-all, a great attacking display from the Red devils who could easily convert good chances into lovely goals, something which their opponent lacked last night!

It is almost certain, Chicharito is going to live up to the expectations and we have a legend in the making.

Hail Javier Hernandez!

A lot expected from Javier Hernandez - the latest MU addition

Javier Hernandez - rather more famous by the name "Chicharito" scored 2 great goals in the FIFA 2010 WC
A lot has been said about this 22 year old bright Mexican forward called Javier Hernandez, more famously known as Chicharito in his home country. He is the first Mexican Manchester United signing and a very proud one indeed. He was aquired by United in April but got his work permit through later in May - which sooner or later had to happen!

He is certainly one of the most quickest, finest and agile finishers of the football. His heading ability is rock solid too! He has impressed the whole world with his two fantastic goals in the recent world cup against two very good defensive teams - France and Argentina. Javier is gonna get "Chicarito" written behind his United shirt. Chicharito was named to be the fastest player in this year's World Cup at a whooping average running speed of 32.15 Km/hr. Now that's a hard average to maintain, hope it only goes higher while he is at Old Trafford.

And No wonder he scored two magnificent goals in the World Cup, you can have a look here:

Mexico 2-0 France
Chicarito scores a nice 2nd goal

Mexico 1-3 Argentina
That one went like a rocket and had everyone talking after the game

Here are what other players had to say about him

Sir Bobby Charlton says he is "extremely excited" to see him play with the Reds

Sir Alex Ferguson - "The kid will be lasting my legacy".. Now such words don't come so often do they!

John O'Shea - Chicharito would be Manchester Unied's Wild Card!

Assistant Coach Mike Phelan - "He'll be a valuable addition"

All I have to say is, Berbatov! you better watch out and pull your socks because this kid will make your life tougher at Old Trafford, no wonder you got your own class!

Anyway, Glory Glory

The Red Devils take on MLS All-Stars in tonight's tough encounter

It's a tough encounter ladies n gentlemen and possibly gonna give us a flavour of the Chelsea showdown on 8th of August but obviously at a very low level.

Live broadcast of the game will be at 7.30 PM local time and 1.30 AM BST. It will be played in Southern USA in a city called Houston, TX

Never heard of All-Stars? Not a problem! MLS All-star basically means Best of MLS league.. Its a bit like best of Premier League but here in England we don't have a best team by incorporating players from a variety of teams because we got one already! Manchester United!!

So the best of America vs Manchester United! But Americans really suck at soccer anyway!!
This year's All-star team once featured the ex-red devil David Beckham, however this year Landan Donavan is in the limelight. Although he played in the American Champions league game yesterday, the opponent is enough to charge him and he would love to defeat Man United on his own soil. He is one passionate American footballer.

This game is big because no English club has defeated MLS All-Stars so far. So if Fergie's men can do it, it will be a big history!

This is what Donavan had to say "We take this game very seriously and we have a really good group of players that can play with any teams in the world. I expect it to be a fun, competitive, and exciting game. People are paying good money, we want to give them a good show."

Possible MLS Starters:

GK Donovan Ricketts – Jamaica/LA Galaxy

DF Omar Gonzalez – United States/LA Galaxy

DF Chad Marshall – United States/Columbus Crew

DF Jamison Olave – Colombia/Real Salt Lake

MF Dwayne De Rosario – Canada/Toronto FC

MF Kyle Beckerman (injured) – United States/Real Salt Lake

MF Marco Pappa – Guatemala/Chicago Fire

MF Javier Morales – Argentina/Real Salt Lake

MF Guillermo Barros Schelotto – Argentina/Columbus Crew

FW Edson Buddle – United States/LA Galaxy

FW Landon Donovan – United States/LA Galaxy

On the United Bench, Chicharito is all set to make a 30 minute cameo if needed as stated by Sir Alex Ferguson. Little Pea, as they call him is well excited for this intriguing fixture!

More news after the game. Glory Glory

Match Reviews
They said in the papers that the mighty Manchester United would easily demolish the local MLS 7th seeded team - Philadelphia Union. But in grass, it all turned out to be a rather hard fought and deserving win.

Mwanga in action!

It was not all about Manchester United's decent attack and great counter-attack but also some exemplary stuff from the Congolese striker - Danny Mwanga. That guy did create some panic alarms in United's back 4 especially the goalie himself.

Let's start off with the playing XI for United
In attack we had, Danny Welbeck, Kiko Macheda and Gabriel Obertan. In the midfield there was Paul Scholes, Giggs and Cleverly. The starting defenders were Wes Brown, Johny Evans, John O' Shea.

Sir Alex made 5 team changes from what we saw against the Scottish team - Celtics in Toronto. He put Dimitar Berbatov and Fletcher on the bench who were brought on for Federico Macheda and Paul Scholes respectively. Also some new faces to feature were the Belgian defending winger Richie Da Laet, Chris Smalling and the debutant Corry Evans who all featured as subs.

At the gate entrances, 70% of the jersies spotted were RED and worn by supporters of Manchester United. It was amazing to watch so many Red Devil fans across the Atlantic. There was a fairly elderly drummer at the entrance of the Camcast gates...

MAN OF THE MATCH was Gabriel Obertan who put up a fine show and last the whole game which is something rare to watch.

The game started with full vigour as Manchester United rarely gave any time to the opponent to relax. The 3rd minute saw Gabriel Obertan missing a dream opening by missing a touch chance. Then came another chance from Danny Welbeck which was well saved by the Philly goalie. As the game progressed, Philly got handful of chances which were well saved by Thomas Kuszchak - a very talented Polish goalie who is barely given any chances in the presence of Dutch veteran Van Der Sar.

Paul Scholes received a yellow card for a wild 2 feet challenge. The whole crowd was rather observed to be enjoying the booking as though it's a typical thing! Way to go Paul Scholes! You're NEVER gonna improve... The whole of the crowd was hooting and supporting the old guard - Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs - who really played with immense partnership. Ryan Giggs's appeal for a penalty was put down and all you could hear in the stadium was "F*ck you Ref* It was great to have United States fans booing their own country and supporting the English club. In fact, the stadium played the English national anthem at the beginning.

The Second half saw some more attacking display from United, Dimitar Berbatov was warmly welcomed by the crowd. There were a group of people wearing B E R B A T O V shirts with everyone of them wearing each of the letter. It's astonishing but not surprising how much support Berba has and yet he fails in many games, no doubt he's a great and an elegant player but you really gotta live up to your fans and win a place in the starting XI. I reckon if Dimitar Berbatov continues to carry this form, he'll atleast find the goal 20 -25 times, somethign that is expected from a 30 million GBP transfer from Spurs.

Fletcher came on for Scholesy and was a great player to watch. His leadership skills are commendable.
We also saw some great dribbling abilities from Gabriel Obertan all through the game and Danny Welbeck's amazing partnership. Berba's elegance proved worth when he gave a back heal pass and created a scoring chance out of nothing! He was ruled outside once when he was clearly on-side, I gotta admit the refereeing was BAD!

Cleverly and Richie Da Laet were in action too. Welbeck gave a lovely pass through the defenders which was wisely picked up by the Frenchman who scored a magnificent goal through the goalie's legs. It was a suicide from Philly's point of view but a goal well earned. The way Gabriel celebrated reminded me of Thierry Henry and so did the goal. Berbatov missed a great opportunity when his hit rebounded from the inside of the cross-bar! How unlucky.. but it was a great game for all the players - especially Danny Welbeck, Gabriel, Giggs and not to forget - Dimitar Berbatov - the "getting there but not quite there yet legend"

Manchester United team on the famous Rocky steps. Why the hell does Dimitar Berbatov have to dress differently?

Manchester United vs Celtic Match Review + HD Highlights

Dimitar Berbatov was a revelation at the Celtic game

Happy days! The football season has begun and started in our favour!

Manchester United has recorded its first win of the 5 pre-season games across the Atlantic yesterday in Toronto...

FT SCORE: Man UTD 3-1 Celtics

It has all started off well at Toronto where Man Utd saw Celtics at an exhibition game in Toronto, Canada.

More than half of the players played were from the Youth team inlcuding Cleverly, Macheda, Welbeck, Da Laet.

The game marked the debut for the England U20 Chris Smalling.

Tom Cleverly also featured in this game after being loaned out from Watford.

Not to forget the Frenchman Winger Gabriel Obertan and the Senegal striker Mirame Diuf
Last season's hat-trick hero Mirame Diuf was very sharp against Celtic!

Also, I would like to mention about Darren Gibson, the awesome Irish player.. He really did cause some panic for the Celtic Goalie with his high energy long range shots. Pretty impressive and powerful as always the big man!

Match Review:

The game was perfectly in the balance with both sides coming up with attacks equally. Just as we thought Celtic had begun to have an upper hand on the game, Dimitar Berbatov scored a brilliant goal with a lovely assist from Diuf, the fresh Senegal striker.

Chris Smalling did a ridiculous mistake in the 2nd half to have fouled the Celtic striker to earn the Bhoys a kick from the penalty spot.

1-1, all panicing now except for the red devils who played very cool-ly!

Berbatov set up Danny Welbeck for an easy yet a lucky diving tap into the goal.. 2-1.. things look much more relaxed.. Berbatov is feeling confident and playing some fine football.

Next up we have the talented Tom Cleverly strike a goal from a deflection off the Celtic defender. But you gotta put your hats off the Dimitar Berbatov who was constantly giving good service to others after having scored a wonderful goal in the 1st half.

In the first half we had Ryan Giggs who was constantly being cheered and Paul Scholes really uplifting the game. Giggs was excellent on the wings while Scholes played lovely football by giving long passes - the way he does it! It all seems magical when Paul scholes hits a long shot, you can close your eyes and yet be confident the ball landed in a very much goal scoring situation. On one of the occasions, Obertan really did a good job dribbling through the wings and nearly scored on one occasion. You gotta put your hats off to the "Old Guard"

Fletcher was constantly on the run, winning possession for the Reds. Making essential tackles and showing great promise!

In a nutshell, all the players were desperate to start in the starting XI against Chelsea in the upcoming Community Shield in August.

Player Ratings:

Edwin Van Der Sar - 8 - did good things perfectly, saved one or two shots but had nothing much to do in the game

Chris Smalling - 6 - had a decent game but cost United a penalty, a stoooopid one!

Johny Evans - 8 - looked like a leader

Rafael - 7

Da Laet - 6

Fabio - 7

O Shea - 6

Cleverly - 8 - Awesome control of the ball, this guy seems to have learnt a lot from Watford!

Welbeck - 7 - Good dribbling abilities and scored an easy goal

Macheda - 7 - Decent overall, really should have scored

Diuf - 7 - had an amazing day, provided a great assisted to Dimi

Fletcher - 7 - an Amazing leader. did everything alright.

Scholes - 7 - lovely lovely player

Giggs - 6 - Did OK overall, lacked the attacking display

BERBA - the main man - 9 - 1 goal, 2 assists, what else do you really need? this guy seems to have geared up for the next season and silences all his critics! the boy seems ready to pump it up.
