Young Spaniard gives strong hint he could move to Old Trafford...
Valencia forward David Silva has given the strongest indication yet that he is interested in a move to United.
The Spaniard has been closely monitored by Sir Alex Ferguson for the last few months, and the United manager has sent scouts to two of Silva’s games this season, The Daily Mirror reports.
The 23-year-old, who helped Spain win the Euro 2008 title with some eye-catching displays, continued to reiterate his unwavering commitment to Valencia, but also admitted that an offer from the Red Devils may be too good to resist.
“It’s an honour for any player that a club of the prestige of Manchester United should follow them and that in itself is enormous praise,” Silva said.
“I am committed to Valencia and my dream is to win the title but in the future anything is possible.
“Valencia have rejected offers for me in the past few months and I am happy here. But I also know that the Premier League is a big competition and hard to resist.”
Silva was also wanted by Liverpool during the summer, but the Reds were unable to match Valencia’s £30 million asking price.
In contrast, United, still heavily cashed up with the funds from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, are unlikely to have any problems with financing a deal.
