UCL Review: Nani's powerful goal gives United 3 points against Bursaspor (VIDEO)

Nani's 30 yards strike was enough for United
FT: Manchester United 1-0 Bursaspor

Manchester United failed to dominate the game against Bursaspor despite the early goal by Portugese winger - Nani. This was his fourth goal so far this season - Nani has certainly gone onto a flying start. He seems to be fitting in his Portugese counterpart - Cristiano Ronaldo's shoes quite nicely.

Manchester United sit comfortably at the top of Group C with 7 points followed by Glasgow Rangers "Gers" at the second spot with 5 points after drawing 1-1 with Valencia. Bursaspor are at 4th at the moment yet to register a win in Champions League this season.

Despite the early goal, United could not kill off their opponents - Bursaspor who fought extremely valiantly in front of a very loud Turkish audience at Old Trafford. Bursaspor's right back - "Ali Tandogan" and United's Patrice Evra were involved in a rough tackle which earned Ali a name in the book (yellow card) as well as a substitition.

Anderson was probably the best passer of the game and enjoyed his moment by giving an elegant pass to Federico Macheda who failed to find the back of the net. After scoring a  goal in the 7th minute, Nani was kept silent by Bursaspor's defence. He got an opportunity to make it 2-0 but the shot ended up in the goalie's gloves lacking pace and direction which reminded me of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jee Sung Park was often spotted deep in Bursaspor's final third making long and quick runs for his club. Park was replaced by Frenchman Gabriel Obertan, who enjoyed his moment of the limited time in the game, by dribbled extremely skilfully in Bursaspor's penalty box but failed to neatly pass it to any one and only manage to win a corner. From the corner kick, Obertan was a bit unfortunate to find his headed effort deflecting from the outside of the goal post. But overall, a good effort by the ex-Bordeaux winger.

As the game reached in last quarter, here were growing fears if United would yet again concede late or not. But fortunately they hung on to their lead - thanks to Luis Nani!

Anderson was replaced by "Chicharito" Hernandez 20 minutes from Full Time whose first and the only touch was wide of the goal post. However, it was quite a nice set up by United captain - Nemenja Vidic, but one can argue that Hernandez was off-side ONLY had he found the net!

There were 5 extra minutes because of the stoppage caused due to a couple of injuries affected by Bursaspor players and a few substitions. Bursaspor were awarded a free-kick in the 95th minute and perhaps that's what Bursaspor were living for in this game. The goalie got the green light to come out of his penalty box and maybe have bust his shooting skills but it didn't quite happen for Bursaspor and United survived from conceding!
