Transfer Window Round-up for Manchester United

15 days of the Transfer window have elapsed. United have barely rolled any cash so far apart from Anders Lindegaard's transfer from Denmark and that too on an undisclosed fee. Peter Schmeichel has warned that Lindegaard can by no means be United's number 1.

Rest 15 days are expected to be quite for United as far as the transfers are concerned. Below is a summary of the 2010/11 January Transfer events for Manchester United so far:

IN
Anders Lindegaard from Aalesund, Denmark
Contract: 3.5 years
Watch Lindegaard's first interview at Manchester United:

(fresh rumours)
Alexis Sanchez from Udinese (Italy)
Manchester United have refreshed their desire to sign Chilean playmaker Alexis Sanchez joining the big names like Chelsea and Inter.  Apparently United are most likely to sign him. However, Sanchez comes with a heavy price tag of £17million. This might put off Sir Alex
Fabio Coentrao: from Benfica
He could serve as an ideal alternate of Patrice Evra in case he leaves in the summer for Barcelona.
Unfortunately, this guy also comes at a huge cost of £20m

LOANED OUT till the end of 2010/11 season:
Federico Macheda to Sampdoria, Italy
Macheda only went to Italy to get more experience, that's what we've been hearing so far. However he may have settlign plans and may never turn back to United.

Richie Da Laet to Portsmouth
the Belgian is ready to join 3rd club on loan this season after Sheffield and Preston

Danny Welbeck to  Sunderland (since the start of the season)

Tom Cleverley to Wigan Athletic (since the start of the season)

Mame Biram Diouf to Blackburn Rovers (since the start of the season)

Nicky Ajose to Bury

Corry Evans to Hull City
Danny Drinkwater to Cardiff City
Cameron Stewart to Hull City

Ben Amos to Oldham Athletic

Perhaps you havent heard most of the names above as the players are either from reserves team or the Academy

OUT

James Chester to Hull City
Magnus Eikrem to Molde FK

(Fresh Rumours)
Wes Brown to Spurs?
Apparently, Tottenham Hotspurs are favourites amongst 5 other clubs to sign the Englishman

Michael Owen to Sunderland?
Steve Bruce looks keen to rescue injury prone Michael Owen and snatch him away from United where he barely gets any games to live on! Also, United may earn a few million pounds which may help lower United's debt. This way Owen is doing both clubs a favour. However, if he goes that puts an added pressure on Sir Alex to find another striker after we heard that Federico Macheda wants to extend his loan at Sampdoria.

Tom Cleverly may make a United comeback soon enough

Tom Cleverley may be spotted in Red soon enough.
On Tuesday, 31/08/2010, we heard about the loan out of Tom Cleverley to Wigan Athletic, the youngest Premier League team after it's foundation in 1932.
But at the moment Tom Cleverly is blue at Wigan and be recalled in January, 2011
The move was pretty self-explanatory, the lad needed to gain some solid experience which would have never been achieved by staying at Manchester United where he only got the opportunity to represent the Reserves team. It had been impossible for him to break into the first team while the likes of Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher, Jee Sung Park, Ryan Giggs, Nani and Michael Carrick were still there to handle the midfield. Hence, a move to Wigan Athletic was eyed as a great vision by the Basingtoke born, Tom Cleverley.

Sir Alex Ferguson has monitored the lad eversince he has moved to Wigan and feels he's ready to earn his place at United's first squad. Cleverley has mostly featured in the reserves team for the Lactics with only one first team appearance which happens to be his first Premier League game in his entire career.

When will Tom Cleverley be back to Manchester United? It's mostly likely going to be in January 2011 when the transfer window re-opens.  As Sir Alex Ferguson said "We'll probably bring Tom back in January, he's going to be a great footballer and I really like him" says it all really.

Sir Alex added "I've heard the fans are starting to talk about Tom, and I think they're right to do that because he could very well be the next top player to come through the ranks."

Ferguson concluded "I felt it could be hard to give him enough football. I think five or six months on loan could really help him. He'll benefit from first-team football in the Premier League."

Perhaps this is Sir Alex's incentive to the young English midfielder who may as well be chosen for the England team soon enough, only if he's given the boost, only if he's given the experience.

Tom Cleverley scored twice in Manchester United pre-season tour to the United States of America, Mexico, Canada and Ireland.

Danny Welbeck was sent out to Sunderland on loan in the summer before Tom. However, there is no news about his return  to United yet although we hope that it is before next season kick starts.

Macheda to leave Manchester United in January

Federico Macheda, who was transferred from the Italian Club Lazio in 2007 , is all set to return to his hometown club on loan! According to a report in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello sport, Lazio may also try to make the move permanent!

 Off to Italy on loan?
Macheda couldn't find a place in Sir Alex's first team announcements and thus his former club has decided to take advantage by promising him regular first team appearances.

With 3 goals, Macheda had a good time in Manchester United's first team but he lost form quickly and thus had to be dropped!

His last performance was against Bolton Wanderers on September 26th, 2010, where he was substituted against Rooney and failed to impress!

Another report suggests that Macheda is keen on moving back to his club!

Chris Smalling will join United for the 2010/11 season

Manchester United have confirmed that they have signed a pre-contract agreement with Fulham regarding the transfer of Chris Smalling (pictured above).

The under 19 England defender has appeared in 9 games with Fulham first team and is reviewed to be a tremendous young defender. He is called to be a very mature player with incredible talent and defending abilities.

Hope he brings glory to United when he joins us in the summer.
