Match 10: Vidic's header and Nani's bizarre goal earn United 3 points

Commentator: Nani's 84th minute goal has been the most bizarre goal I've ever seen in Premier League.

Manchester United 2-0 Tottenham Hotspurs
Vidic 31' | Nani 84'

Spurs has recently grown up the ranks in Europe as well as in England. They were (before this game) amongst the top 4 teams in England and first 2 in their UEFA Champions League  Group which includes Inter Milan!

Halloween Special (Source)
So Tottenham Hotspurs came to Old Trafford looking forward to one would anticipate, a very exciting game. And so it was.

Captain Vidic netted his first goal of the season for Man United through Nani's beautiful text-book free kick after Chicharito was fouled by Kaboul.

Both teams struck the wood work (the goal posts) atleast once in the game with Jee Sung Park for United in the 2nd minute and the Dutch midfielder Van Der Vaart for Spurs 5 minutes on.

Carling Cup: Chicharito strikes again, Bebe scores his first

Manchester United 3-2 Wolves (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Bebe 56' Park 70' Hernandez 90' | Elokobi 60' Forley 76'

It was a wonderful night for Manchester United as they proceed to the Carling Cup Quarterfinals by defeating Wolves. This fixture was already very special since it happened last year too with Danny Welbeck the only scorer. This year, things were slightly different.. United had to fight for the victory and BEN AMOS was in goal rather than Tomasz Kuszczak. Clearly, this wasn't the best efforts from the English goalie.

Late winner: Javier Hernandez

Bebe scored his debut goal in his maiden start for Manchester United. It was a lucky goal to say the least but the lad deserved it after working so hard. He was eventually replaced by the HERO ONCE AGAIN - Javier Hernandez aka Chicharito who scored his 2nd goal in Carling Cup in the 90th minute. Elokobi's controversial Pole dancing celebration near the Manchester United corner flagpost may as well cost the full back a lot.

Wayne Rooney puts the contract saga to bed, but will he stay until 2015?

Wayne Rooney has finally made his mind to stay at Manchester United and signed a new contract expiring in 2015! He made this shocking U-Turn after having long talks with Sir Alex Ferguson, David Gill and his agent - Paul Stretford (or as some people call him "Ask Paul" Stretford because they believe Rooney runs on him)

UCL Review: Nani's powerful goal gives United 3 points against Bursaspor (VIDEO)

Nani's 30 yards strike was enough for United
FT: Manchester United 1-0 Bursaspor

Manchester United failed to dominate the game against Bursaspor despite the early goal by Portugese winger - Nani. This was his fourth goal so far this season - Nani has certainly gone onto a flying start. He seems to be fitting in his Portugese counterpart - Cristiano Ronaldo's shoes quite nicely.

Manchester United sit comfortably at the top of Group C with 7 points followed by Glasgow Rangers "Gers" at the second spot with 5 points after drawing 1-1 with Valencia. Bursaspor are at 4th at the moment yet to register a win in Champions League this season.

Dark Clouds loom over Old Trafford ahead of Bursaspor clash

Bad news for United continues as Sir Alex confirmed on Tuesday that Johnny Evans, Michael Owen, Bebe, Ryan Giggs, Owen Hargreaves AND Wayne Rooney would not take part in tomorrow's Group C UEFA Champions League fixture between Manchester United and Turkish Champions Bursaspor at Old Trafford (K.O. at 19.45) live on Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports HD 2.

Wayne Rooney should take a lesson or two from Sachin Tendulkar!

Sachin Tendulkar's iconic status is spreading its influence to different parts of the world. For the world, Sachin is a God, who can do no wrong.  It is the British media, who have hailed the little master and urged the struggling Wayne Rooney to look up to the Indian legend.

Gabriel Obertan's only goal for Manchester United

The goal came against Philadelphia Union when Manchester United took on the Philly rivals in Philadelpha.

FT: Manchester United 1-0 Philadelphia Union

Teriffic goal celebration!

Gabriel Obertan was the only player to score that night, thanks to a neat assist by young English striker Danny Welbeck.

Gabriel Obertan's celebration after the goal was quite fantastic. Is he not ready for the first team yet? To me he looks quite a nice winger with a great running ability. This guy can actually take on defenders and rip a defence apart. He may be suitable as a Giggs substitute. Or Perhaps Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley or Bebe can do the job too.

Nani and Chicharito shine on international duty by scoring goals

The only way to impress a large section of football fans for a striker or an attacking player is TO SCORE GOALS.

It's been goals galore for United's two forward men: Luis Nani (Portugal) and Javier Hernandez aka Chicharito (Mexico).

Both these players have scored goals for their teams this week and TRDS would like to congratulate the lads. May they hit the Carrington training ground with full might that they can totally shake their opponents and pledge to win trophies for United.

Owen Hargreaves all set to return this Saturday against West Brom

Hargreaves is back and WILL feature against West Brom!!
All eyes on Saturday as Premier League action is back this weekend after a week off thanks to the international break that halted things. Now we're back to the REAL football!!

Manchester United take on West Brom Albion this Saturday and here is the intereasting bit: Owen Hargreaves will feature against West Brom on Saturday!

This news might have come a bit like a surprise to you considering Owen has been out for 2 years but it would not surprise Hargreaves' personal surgeon and knee specialist - Dr. Richard Steadman who has spoken of Owen in admiration - "I've a lot of admiration for the way Owen has responded - he's worked very hard and has never given up. Things are looking good for the 31 year old midfielder."

Owen suddenly shocked Sir Alex and other management team members by arriving at the Carrington training ground claiming he's fit! One would think Owen is bull-shitting but the fact is. he is ready and kicking!

With Owen's arrival, people like Anderson and Carrick are all set to be deported to minor clubs - for they are not required in United's midfield. It would be interesting to know if Owen hargreaves starts against West Brom in the starting XI but he would certainly play - that's for sure.

Owen Hargreaves' last appearance came in May, 2010 when he featured in the win over Sunderland with Hargreaves not even touching the ball through his feet once but only contributed to United's possesion through a header!

It's been about time we saw some creativity in the midfield.. It's about time Owen came to the pitch roaring about and scoring fantastic goals. It's about time!

C'mon Owen Hargreaves, hoping you have a safe and steady return to domestic football and may God give you strength and power to carry on the form at an international level by representing England - for they need good midfielders like yourself.

Here's Owen's best goal ever through a free-kick. HAD TO BE ARSENAL:

Have fun!

Sir Alex Ferguson visits White House during an international break

Boss relishes much awaited break
Boss Alex Ferguson swapped Old Trafford for the White House on Friday, taking advantage of a window in the Premier League schedule to tour the US presidential mansion.

A frustrated bust up with Sir Alex Ferguson may cost Wes Brown

Name: Wes Brown
Age: 30
At United since: 1996
Appearances: 349
Starts: 199
Brown is also one short of 200 starts for United, but he now fears he may never get the chance to reach that milestone. - NOW THAT IS QUITE A STATEMENT!

Superman to stay longer at Manchester United!

Undoubtedly the best Goalkeeper of present times, Edwin Van der Sar has dismissed rumours about him leaving Manchester United the next summer!

United have been scouting goalkeepers in recent months and coach Eric Steele said in an interview this week that he believed Van der Sar, who turns 40 this month, had made his mind up to call it a day at the end of the current campaign.

Cocky Macheda's embarassing comment about Rooney is a blunder by Guardian!

Once friends, now enemies?
Perhaps Guardian should consult Italian translating experts rather than just going on to google and searching for an English translation of the phrase "coatto like me" on free translation services available online.

New boy Chicharito is already a top goal scorer for United! (Review,Videos,Pictures)

The lad has scored 2 goals for Manchester United this season exluding the three he scored in Manchester United's Pre-Season North American and Ireland tour. This post presents a little biography, his videos, pictures of the goals he has scored with Manchester United. Look out for his review done by TRDS at the bottom.

Name: Javier Hernandez
Javier Hernandez: Top Goal Scorer @ United
Nickname: Chicharito (Little Pea in Spanish)
Date of Birth 1 June 1988 (age 22)(1988-06-01)
Deal signed: 8 April 2010*
*(subject to a work permit application)
Height: 5ft 9inch
United T-Shirt No. = 14
Nationality: Mexico
Preferred Position: Striker
Previous Club: Guadalajara
At Guadalajara: 26 goals in 64 apps
Mexico team*: 11 goals in 18 appearances
*As of 18/1/2011 Bosnia and Herzegovina are Mexico's next opponent.

The latest addition to the Manchester United squad, Javier Hernandez, who is also known as "Chicharito" and is so proud of it that he has got it inscribed behind his t-shirt instead of Hernandez.
Who had heard of his name until United announced on 8th of April, 2010 that they've aquired him but the deal was subjected to a work permit acceptance? I guess not many, apart from Mexican Manchester United fans!

Then came along the World Cup in which the Mexican scored 2 goals. One came against a 2-0 victory against France and a massive 3-1 defeat to Argentina.
FIFA's statistical analysis team observed Chicharito to be the fastest player in the world cup with a top speed of 32.15 Km/hr

For Javier Hernandez there could have possibly been no better start to his career at Manchester United than to score on his debut. The goal came against MLS All-Stars in Houston, Texas. Fletcher set it up for him.
It was a close call whether or not Chicharito was off-side, but it was an impressive and a confident finish. Thanks to Darren Fletcher for his killer long pass.

Chicharito's debut goal against MLS All-stars 5-2. Thanks to Fletcher

In his 2nd pre-season game, this time against his old club - Chivas Guadalajara, he scored again! But this time against Manchester United. Yes, he played the first half with his old club as a farewell and changed into the Red Devil gear at the half time. He failed to stop his ex-club win the game. Chivas 3-2 Manchester United. Have a look at the lovely firing goal from the Mexicon which even the Polish United goalie - Tomasz Kuszczak could not save!

Chicharito then scored his 3rd pre-season goal in his 3rd pre-season appearance. This goal came against League of Ireland XI against Manchester United which saw the inaugral of the marvellous AVIVA stadium in Dublin.  Manchester United 7-2 League of Ireland XI

Chicharito's face was enough to score a goal against Chelsea.

Chicharito's most important goal for Manchester United came against Valencia C.F in the 2nd Champions League group game. Manchester United registered a win in Spain for the first time in 8.5 years thanks to "Chicharito" Javier Hernandez's cameo appearance.

JAVIER HERNANDEZ REVIEWED:

The young lad displays a great deal of talent. He is undoubtedly one of the brightest young footballers around. Having said that, a transfer fee of £6m means that Chicharito is definitely a bargain for Manchester United already.
Chicharito with his sister
Chicharito is a two footed accurate finishing machine. He doesn't mind scoring from his face either, like he did against Chelsea in the Community Shield game which United won 3-1 thanks to a late goal from Chicharito which secured a hard fought victory for the Red Devils.

The guy is too skillful for his age. He is ravaging quick, knows how to override the offside trap. Chicharito is England's young Michael Owen one can arguably say. He is the most productive around the penalty area. Interesting enough! Chicharito was declared as the "fastest runner" by FIFA's Stats Analyst team at the world cup 2010 with a top running speed of 32.15 Km/hr. Now this is a huge plus point for a striker - the ability to make quick runs and making use of long balls fired by the midfield, typically how Darren Fletcher set him up during the MLS All-Stars game in Houston. (United won 5-2, totally brutalised the american squad!)

One can proudly say that Chicharito owns pace and skills that not many Premier League players posses. The Mexican striker has had a much better start to his Manchester United career.

I must conclude by saying that Chicharito has shown a great promise for both Manchester United and the future of Mexico. May he score loads of goals for Manchester United this season. Red Devils seriously need it from this player - as Rooney can no more be relied upon for his awesome away form (that was a joke).

Thanks for reading, hope Chicharito becomes the Top scorer of the season for United!

Tom Cleverly may make a United comeback soon enough

Tom Cleverley may be spotted in Red soon enough.
On Tuesday, 31/08/2010, we heard about the loan out of Tom Cleverley to Wigan Athletic, the youngest Premier League team after it's foundation in 1932.
But at the moment Tom Cleverly is blue at Wigan and be recalled in January, 2011
The move was pretty self-explanatory, the lad needed to gain some solid experience which would have never been achieved by staying at Manchester United where he only got the opportunity to represent the Reserves team. It had been impossible for him to break into the first team while the likes of Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher, Jee Sung Park, Ryan Giggs, Nani and Michael Carrick were still there to handle the midfield. Hence, a move to Wigan Athletic was eyed as a great vision by the Basingtoke born, Tom Cleverley.

Sir Alex Ferguson has monitored the lad eversince he has moved to Wigan and feels he's ready to earn his place at United's first squad. Cleverley has mostly featured in the reserves team for the Lactics with only one first team appearance which happens to be his first Premier League game in his entire career.

When will Tom Cleverley be back to Manchester United? It's mostly likely going to be in January 2011 when the transfer window re-opens.  As Sir Alex Ferguson said "We'll probably bring Tom back in January, he's going to be a great footballer and I really like him" says it all really.

Sir Alex added "I've heard the fans are starting to talk about Tom, and I think they're right to do that because he could very well be the next top player to come through the ranks."

Ferguson concluded "I felt it could be hard to give him enough football. I think five or six months on loan could really help him. He'll benefit from first-team football in the Premier League."

Perhaps this is Sir Alex's incentive to the young English midfielder who may as well be chosen for the England team soon enough, only if he's given the boost, only if he's given the experience.

Tom Cleverley scored twice in Manchester United pre-season tour to the United States of America, Mexico, Canada and Ireland.

Danny Welbeck was sent out to Sunderland on loan in the summer before Tom. However, there is no news about his return  to United yet although we hope that it is before next season kick starts.

Tom Cleverley was marvellous at the Pre-season tour to North America and Mexico.

FACT: Wayne Rooney loses Coca Cola sponsorship

England striker Wayne Rooney has been dropped by Coca-Cola from one of its advertising campaigns in the wake of allegations about his private life.

The soft drinks firm said they "did not feel it was appropriate" to use him at this time on their Coke Zero packs.
Rooney, 24, and his wife Coleen have appealed for privacy after a series of lurid stories about the striker appeared in tabloids last month.
Coke is continuing to work with Rooney on a separate promotion.
In a statement, the company said: "Last month wae amended our marketing plans on Coke Zero. Given the situation at that time we did not feel it was appropriate to run an on-pack promotion featuring Wayne Rooney.
"Our relationship with Wayne Rooney is ongoing. We are currently working with Wayne on Coke Zero Street Striker - an award winning programme which over the past three years has encouraged thousands of young people to get involved in football.
"We are working on our marketing plans for 2011 and have no announcements to make at this time."
After a disappointing World Cup, Rooney has been off colour for Manchester United so far this season, failing to score in open play and recently caught up with a frustrating ankle injury.
He was left out of the squad for a trip to his former club Everton amid fears that he would be the target of verbal abuse.
Last week, Rooney said he was desperate to rediscover his best form and defended himself by insisting: "I'm only a human being."

Not quite sure about his year yet, but this was definitely Berbatov's best Month!

Hard work Pays off!
Dimitar Berbatov has picked up the first PFA Fans' Player of the Month award of 2010/11 after his excellent start to the campaign.

Sir Alex declared "this could be Dimitar’s season" after his wonderful goal in the Community Shield and, judging by the Bulgarian's form since then, the Reds boss could well be right.

Berbatov netted against Newcastle, West Ham and Everton, and his stunning hat-trick against Liverpool also made a big impression on www.givemefootball.com readers, who voted him ahead of Chelsea trio Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda.

Dimi's first Reds treble took his tally for the season to six and he hailed Ferguson as "one of the most successful managers in the history of the game".

"I write things down about the way we train and how he treats people. It is like a school," he said. "You work with the best manager and play with the best players. I try to learn. I am at the biggest club in the world. If I can learn anywhere it is here."

Meanwhile, Brazilian defender Lucio, who played alongside Berbatov at Bayer Leverkusen, says the Reds frontman is up there with the best players in the world.

"With the natural ability that guy has, we could be talking about him being the world player of the year this season," said Lucio.

"I've played with Kaka, Ronaldinho, Wesley Sneijder – and Berbatov is as naturally gifted as any of them. It took him time to adjust at United but, once he did, I was always confident he would hit this sort of form.

"He is now entering his peak years and I am sure he will get better and better"

Match 7: Fourth away game results in a 4th consecutive away draw! (Video)

Sunderland 0-0 Manchester United, hands on heads says it all
 Sunderland 0-0 Manchester United
DW Stadium
1500 KO, well 15.20 because of a water flood in the United  dressing room

Manchester United carry on with their poor away form this season as they draw their 4th consecutive away game at the DW Stadium, also known as the Stadium of Light, the same place where Arsenal drew 1-1 two weeks ago.

The game was delayed by 20 minutes because apparently one of the water pipes in the Manchester United changing room burst opened.

Sir Alex played a strange 4-3-3 formation without Wayne Rooney. Michael Owen played upfront for the first half and was replaced by the in-form Dimitar Berbatov. It was really a surprising move, one would feel sympathy for Michael who was barely provided with any quality service.

Rafael and Captain Vidic were yellow carded. Anderson was substituted for the newly signed Bebe who barely looked comfortable.

Macheda made way to Hernandez who showed quick feet and good awareness.

What surprises me the most is, United didn't even have a single shot on target! How impossible is that?

All I can say is well done Steve Bruce, you're certainly in line for being the next United boss. Also well-played Sunderland!

Mike Phelan: "It was a fair game"

Sir Alex Ferguson "Happy with draw"

Match Highlights

Macheda to leave Manchester United in January

Federico Macheda, who was transferred from the Italian Club Lazio in 2007 , is all set to return to his hometown club on loan! According to a report in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello sport, Lazio may also try to make the move permanent!

 Off to Italy on loan?
Macheda couldn't find a place in Sir Alex's first team announcements and thus his former club has decided to take advantage by promising him regular first team appearances.

With 3 goals, Macheda had a good time in Manchester United's first team but he lost form quickly and thus had to be dropped!

His last performance was against Bolton Wanderers on September 26th, 2010, where he was substituted against Rooney and failed to impress!

Another report suggests that Macheda is keen on moving back to his club!

Berbatov Shares the Secret for his Success!

Berbatov all the way!!

Super-striker Berbatov has revealed the reason for his tremendous success right from the kick-off of this season. Dimitar Berbatov, who has been rather ineffecient in the past two years at Old Trafford. But this season, when Manchester United looked pale with Rooney's terrible form, he emerged as the saviour!

On being questioned for the reason of this form outburst Berbatov has admitted that the £30.75million fee United paid for his services put pressure on him and affected his performances. He said he spent countless hours thinking what needs to be done to live up to the faith Sir Alex has in him. It was then the spark got the fuel and finally this season Berba is at the top!

He said: “Every player has periods (of self doubt) in their careers and the main thing to learn is to stay strong, because you are going to have dark moments and you need to be strong to get through them.

“You try not to think about (how much a club paid for you). But sometimes you just can’t help it. You start thinking money and now what’s going to happen if you don’t prove good enough for that amount of money and you don’t score enough goals.”

With 6 goals in the Premier League so far, he is already at the top of the table sharing his position with the Chelsea star Malouda. Add to it he scored the goal against Chelsea in the Community Shield fixture!

TheReDevilSpot wishes Mitko(as he is known in his home-country), all the best!
